About our Award Programs

Age: 14 – 24 years

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading achievement award for young people: bringing together practical experiences and life skills to create committed global citizens and equipping young people for life and work.

The Award operates in more than 130 countries and territories around the globe, and for over sixty years, millions of young people have participated and received Awards, with millions more benefiting from its impact in communities around the world. Read more stats for the Award here.

  • Comprised of three Award levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold – each progressively more challenging
  • Comprised of four Sections: Voluntary Service, Skills, Physical Recreation and Adventurous Journey, and includes a Gold Residential Project at Gold level

Age: 9 – 13 years

Ignite Award is a challenging program of discovery for young people and provides a framework to learn valuable skills, assist others in the community and experience some adventures.  The Award is:

  • Comprised of four Award levels: Levels 1 – 4
  • Comprised of four activity sections of Physical Activity, Hobby, Volunteering and Adventure

Our Awards

  • Open to all young people regardless of their background and circumstances
  • About personal development: they are non-competitive, enjoyable, voluntary and balanced programs, which requires sustained effort over time
  • Frameworks that enable young people to demonstrate self-development


  • They can be used by any group or organisation working with young people.  It offers youth agencies and organisations a way of gaining recognition for development activities with young people
  • Based on enduring principles and robust methodology, but are flexible enough to be used with any group of young people, whatever their needs
  • Focus not on external and universal standards, but on self-directed learning based on individual goals – any young person can take part and achieve an Award, whatever their starting point


There are registration fees payable by the Participant upon registering for an Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

The registration fees for 2020 are (gst inc):

  • Bronze Award = $140
  • Silver Award = $160
  • Gold Award = $185
