About Awards WA

Since our inception in 1962 as the State Award Committee, and then as a formally Incorporated Association in 1985, the Association’s major focus has been the delivery of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (the Duke of Ed Award) in WA.

The Association acts as the Award Operating Authority for the Duke of Ed Award under a License with the National Award Operator and with the assistance of our volunteer network, supports over 3,000 young people annually.

With a change of name in 2018 from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia (WA Division) Inc. to Awards WA Inc., the Association introduced a new award program – the Ignite Award: a challenging program of discovery for young people aged 10 – 14 years old.

Awards WA Inc. is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
